The Peterborough County Cattlemen Association are very pleased to announce the return of their annual Beef Barbecue, at Selwyn Acres, 2015 Buckhorn Rd, on August 19, 2023. Plan to make a day of it, as there will be lots of activities to celebrate the return of this much anticipated event.
Starting at 1PM, the Peterborough County 4-H Beef Club will be holding their achievement day during the afternoon. The 4-H club is bigger and better than ever. The 4-H members will be showing off their showmanship skills and their animals, both which they have been working on daily since the spring. Come and be part of the audience to watch the youth and future of this industry show off their animals.
At the conclusion of the 4-H, be sure to check out the return of the Larry Leahy Memorial Peterborough County Steer Show & Sale. Steers will be judged on site. Come and select your top picks and then find out if the judges agree. The animals will be auctioned off immediately at the conclusion of the meal. The beef barbecue will start being served after the judging of the steers has been completed at approx 5PM. Tickets will be available at the gate. Adults $25, Children 6 - 12 - $10, Under 6 eat for free. In an effort to be environmentally friendly, we are asking our guests to bring their own plates and cutlery, however plates and cutlery will be available. There is lots of space to bring a lawnchair to socialize while enjoying your delicious meal.
